If extremely short duration pulses of bright light are focused on any rotating, oscillating or vibrating object, it appears to be stationary when the repetition rate of flashlight matches with that of the object. This principal is used in Stroboscope for RPM measurement or freeze motion studies having wide application range in all type of industries. Typical application in Textile industry is rpm measurement of rotating spindles/chuck/shafts of winders, godgets, rolls, etc. Other applications involves rotating machinery-motors, turbines, centrifudges, automobile parts & freeze motion studies such as diesel engine nozzle spray checks, online print checks of rotogravure machines, vibration, cavitation investigation, timing adjustment on petrol engines, spark plug testing, etc.
